Eltham Hen House

We have great experience in keeping and caring for Chickens and have had a large number of our own pets including a Parrot, Fish, various size Rabbits Incl a large French lop, Cat, Hamster, Tortoise & lots of baby Chickens, and have in the past also included Guinea Pigs, Hedgehogs and the odd Tarantula!

Our children are growing up and enjoy helping care for Pets, our teenage son studied animal care at GCSE 2nd year and gained a Diploma passed with Distinction! I myself clip claws and have experience in giving insulin injections to cats also.

All money made at Eltham Hen House goes back into the animals here, it helps towards the upkeep and maintenance to their cages and enclosures and with food and treats etc. We use excel food as recommended by Vets and offer fresh veg everyday. We always have a good fresh supply of Hay, as its the main part of a Rabbits diet. Our cages are always kept clean so all Pets have a comfortable stay while here at Eltham Hen House.

We offer a range of services that can always be adapted to suit your needs, we can be flexible with pickup/drop off times. We have a Vets practice a five minute walk away from us in case of emergencies and would always contact you first in the case of an emergency and obtain your permission to proceed with any treatment that may be needed and not incur any extra costs without your consent, any extra costs would of course be payable on your return. All our cages are totally cleaned out after each Boarder - leaving an empty clean cage.

We don't allow Boarders to mix with other pets unless they have come with a friend, this ensures no fighting, breeding, and helps towards the spreading of any disease or illness.

For all animals including Hens, all we ask is that you bring your Pets empty food and water feeders and we will do the rest. If you would prefer to bring your own cage/eglu for your pets stay we have plenty of space to accommodate this, otherwise a suitable cardboard box or Pet carrier for travel will be fine.

We have indoor and outdoor boarding for Rabbits and Guinea Pigs - depending on the weather and your preference! - but in very bad weather we only offer indoor boarding as we feel this is only fair on your Pet!

We can house your Hens together in their own secure run and hen house, the enclosures can accommodate up to 8 hens comfortably.
